The product of more than 7 years of research, Lancia and De Virgilio, At the Center, was first released by David Bull Publishing in 2014. With 330 pages of original material on the history of the Lancia company, the family and development of the Aurelia, the book received many honors, most notably the Cugnot Award from the Society of Automotive Historians for best book of the year.
De Virgilio and the V6 were also the subject of an article in the New York Times (see below). Publication in such a leading newspaper is intriguing, about an engineer and a firm some 70 years ago, and speaks to the point that serious research into design and engineering is of interest to a broader public. The story was also picked up by La Stampa and la Repubblica. The book is now reprinted and is available from the author at <[email protected]>. Other reviews |
