Aurelias are meant to be driven. Once they are sorted out, they will give pleasure for many years of hard driving. While they are sophisticated cars, and require some attention in how one uses them, they can be driven hard and long without problem. The issue is the setup, and once done correctly, they will reward the driver with many hours of driving pleasure. I have taken my Aurelias, over the years, from Chicago to the East coast and back (one 3,000 mile trip in 2016), on the Colorado Grand many times, largely without incident.
Too often, the new driver or owner pampers their Aurelia, not knowing how well the car handles or steers. The basic Lancia rule applies to these cars: they can do far more than you might imagine. If you keep your foot in it, they will go around any corner. Just keep the foot in it. The Lancia community is spread around the world, but is a small one. Many Lancia owners know other ones, and stay in touch regularly. For those of us not in Europe, we build our own communities of fellow owners. |
