Corsa manifold drawing by De Virgilio from 1952

Books

Digging into Lancia files is rewarding. Several books have been done:
  • the major book is Lancia and De Virgilio, At the Center, all 300+ pages. It won several awards and was well covered when published originally in 2014. It has just been reprinted, available from the author at <gg@g2a2.com>, or via the pages below.
  • Balancing the Lancia V4 - recently printed small booklet on  V4s and the history of Lancia's work.
  • other several small publications, more for fun, about restoring an Aurelia, one on the B20S prototype engine, and a fun one of the advertisements of the 1950s auto shows.
A bit of a story:  years ago, Luigi De Virgilio and I were digging through his father's papers and found a folded paper drawing. Opening it up, we saw  it was a manifold but with the early carburetors, two per  side and realized it was for the Lancia Corsa, the lightweight factory racing Aurelias. These cars were lost in the 1950s and there is finding anything on these cars is beyond rare. But here it was - drawings, the real thing. That's the fun of research. Its been pulled together into  some  work on Lancia history, hopefully capturing a bit of their ingenuity and creativity.  Enjoy.
