The product of more than 7 years of research, Lancia and De Virgilio, At the Center, was released by David Bull Publishing in 2014, and has since sold out. With over 300 pages of original material on the history of the Lancia company, the family and the development of the Aurelia, the book received several honors, most notably the Cunot Award from the Society of Automotive Historians as best book of the year.
De Virgilio and the V6 were also the subject of an article in the New York Times (see below). This article in a leading publication is about a modest engineer in a firm far away, and some 70 years ago. It shows that design and engineering remains of interest to a broader public. The story was also picked up by La Stampa and Republicca.
